That puff of smoke would instead be a cloud of mist a foot in diameter which would do damage. Since the puff of smoke would only last for a turn, so would the cloud of acidic mist.
Mist Treasure: The powerful enchantments of the dragon make even the humblest of items deadly. Weapons summoned by this Scroll are surrounded by a cloud of Acidic Mist for three posts. When another object touches this cloud that object looses a ranking in health. The Cloud extends an inch away from the blade in every direction.
All Health lost to boil techniques is restored at the end of the thread.

Backstory: This scroll is the symbolic manifestation of Hypalta's treasure cave in her come land. Just as her cave holds boundless treasures so too can this scroll. Just as her cave offers perilous hazards for the unwelcome so too can this scroll. The scroll seals items with powerful talismans giving them both protection from the deadly mist of Boil users, as well as the ability to harness it.
